Etna

Our guesthouse is five minutes by car from the centre of  Nicolosi, starting point for the excursions to reach the summit craters of  Etna. The volcano offers wonderful naturalistic routes, paths and itineraries to discover caves, lava valleys and unique sights created by the force of  lava over the centuries

Catania

Twenty minutes by car from “Le Pernici”, Catania is a city rich in roman, medieval and, above all, baroque testimony and is well known for its animated and lively night life. The suggested itinerary includes the historic centre, the cathedral and the statue of an elephant (liotru), symbol of the city, the Benedictine monastery, today part of university, Ursino castle built by Frederick II of Svevia, and the characteristic Fish Market.

Taormina

The pearl of the Ionian is just under forty minutes away from the villa by car and it is the most famous Sicilian town in the world, thanks to its ancient Greek theatre home of concerts and events and for its splendid beaches, among which that in front of  Isola Bella.

Gorges of Alcantara

A park natural canyon twenty minutes from Taormina, created by the river Alcantara, with gorges as high as 50 meters. Inside the gorges it is possible to sunbathe or swim from the small beach on the river banks, or take the various naturalistic walks along the gorges. Rafting or excursions on quads are organized on demand.

Gastronomical Specialties

Our land offers a vast variety of  both sweet and salted excellent specialities, from the crushed iced drinks of various flavours to the rice “ arancini “.

Etna is also land of great “Doc” wines which have obtained  fame in the last few years. Infact the slopes and valleys are rich in family wine producing concerns that offer the possibility to taste and buy the wines directly.
